What is Lawn Aeration?
The goal of lawn aeration is to increase oxygen to the root system of your lawn and to reduce soil compaction. Doing this will allow for nutrients to properly flow into your soil that can be utilized by your lawn.
This can be done via two different methods: core aeration and liquid aeration.

Core Aeration vs Liquid Aeration
Traditional core aeration is when plug of grass (roughly the size of your thumb) are pulled out of your lawn, to allow for oxygen to get into the root system of your lawn and to reduce soil compaction.
This service requires a special machine, called an aerator, that will pull plugs out of your lawn every 4-8 inches apart. The plugs are left behind in the lawn and allowed to decompose.
Liquid aeration is a solution that is added to a fertilizer tank that is sprayed onto the lawn. It uses biostimulants such as humic and fulvic to loosen topsoil and increase oxygenation in your lawn’s root system.
Which is better?
Core aeration has it’s time and place. If your lawn has not been aerated in a number of years, core aeration may be beneficial.
However, unless your lawn is extremely compacted, liquid aeration is the way to go.
Liquid aeration will cover 100% of your lawn, instead of every 4-8 inches like traditional aeration. It also has the benefit of adding potassium to your soil, to help strengthen grass roots. You won’t have plugs laying all over your lawn, and won’t have to risk tracking mud inside your house.
