Preventative and Corrective Grub Treatments

What Do Grubs Do?

Grubs can cause damage to your lawn.  They eat away at grass roots and cause patches of grass to dry out and eventually kill it.  In order to restore your lawn, you need to get rid of the grubs that are currently present, then repair the damaged areas with seed or sod.

What Grub Damage Can Look Like

What is The Best Way To Tackle Grubs?

The best way to stop grubs, is by preventing them from approaching in the first place.  This is done with a preventative grub treatment.  In Ohio, this is best done between Mid-May and July 4th.

Grubs also thrive in thatch layers.  Reducing thatch buildup in your lawn and having proper irrigation will decrease the chances of getting grubs.

If grubs are present after early July and are doing damage to your lawn, they can still be treated.  However, repairs will have to be made to your lawn to fix the damage the grubs did.
